    KNOW HOW

Each MUAS piece carries hours of focused work, thoughtful design, and the calm of four steady hands. But handcraft is never exact — and we believe that’s where its beauty lies. You may notice a glaze trail, a soft curve, a pinhole, a subtle asymmetry — not mistakes, but quiet traces of process and care. Our ceramics are food-safe, fired at 1260°C, and made to be used. Below, you’ll find our guide to caring for your pieces — and answers to the questions we hear most often.

    Dishwasher-safe

    All MUAS pieces are dishwasher-safe.

    Double sealing

All unglazed surfaces are treated twice for extra durability and resistance.

    Diamond-sanded base

Every foot is sanded smooth to be kind to your furniture — no scratches.

    Heat-resistant

Our ceramics can handle the heat — for serving, sipping, or simply holding warmth.

Below you’ll find simple tips to help your ceramics last. Keep in mind, even with the best care, things can happen — a chip appears, a glaze reacts unexpectedly, or something just doesn’t feel right. If that happens, don’t hesitate. Write to us. We’re not a factory — we’re artisans. We know things happen — and when they do, we’ll make sure you’re taken care of. That’s how we do things.

    Care tips

    1. Avoid thermal shock

Don’t pour boiling water into a cold cup straight from the fridge. Let your ceramics reach room temperature first. It’s not about fragility — it’s about respecting the material’s nature.

    2. Dishwasher-safe — with a note

MUAS ceramics are durable enough for the dishwasher and will serve you well for years. But for maximum longevity — especially for irregular shapes or delicate glazes — we recommend handwashing when possible. If your piece doesn’t need a deep clean, a quick rinse and dry will do just fine.

    3. Avoid long soaks

Even with our double impregnation, unglazed bases don’t enjoy soaking. After use, give them a rinse and let them dry — it preserves the texture and keeps things pristine.

    4. Remove stains simply

A little paste of baking soda and water is enough to clean most stains. Let it sit briefly, then rinse thoroughly. No need for harsh scrubbing or aggressive detergents.

    5. Rinse after use

Especially on unglazed parts. Don’t leave tea, coffee, or sauces to linger — a quick rinse keeps the surface clean and the feeling intact.

    6. Microwave safely

Ceramics like MUAS can go in the microwave. Just don’t microwave a tiny spoonful of soup on a big plate— — let heat spread evenly and warm steadily, just as it should.

    FAQ

All MUAS glazes are non-toxic and approved for food use. We fire at 1240°C to ensure strength, safety, and beauty.

It’s part of the charm. Each MUAS piece is handmade, and those small differences — a glaze run, a tiny pinhole — are signs of authenticity, not flaws.

Soft sponge, warm water, gentle detergent — that’s all it takes. Avoid harsh abrasives. For tough stains, use a baking soda paste. Rinse well.

Yes. MUAS ceramics are microwave-safe unless decorated with metallic finishes. Allow the piece to reach room temperature before heating to avoid thermal shock.

Yes. Our ceramics are dishwasher-safe and made to last. But if you want to preserve glaze brilliance and prolong life — especially with irregular shapes — handwashing is always a thoughtful choice.

Yes — but we don’t consider our plates the best tools for baking or reheating. They’re heat-resistant, yet we don’t recommend regular oven use. If you do use them this way, make sure to bring the piece to room temperature before heating.

Yes, of course — but with care. Some of our forms, like Oysters, have irregular rims and require more attention. Avoid harsh friction between surfaces to preserve their character.

Absolutely. Just remember: like with heat, avoid extreme cold-to-hot transitions. Slow and steady wins the temperature game.

Write to us. We stand behind what we make and take every concern seriously. If something’s wrong, we’ll look into it and make it right.

We do — especially for gastronomy and brand partnerships. Whether it’s a custom piece or a full collection, we love collaborating with those who share our values and sensibility. If it feels like a fit, let’s talk.

Close — but not identical. Each MUAS piece is unique, and while we photograph them faithfully with minimal editing, factors like glaze flow, firing, lighting and your screen settings can affect perception. We don’t retouch flaws or enhance tones — what you see is real. And we often hear: 'it’s even more beautiful than expected.'
